MOSFILM MAKED A VISIT TO ESSEN
The festival of Russian films in the city of Essen was completed last week. It was the fourth festival of this kind in Germany that was organized by the Russian Culture Fund supporting by the Russian Culture Ministry and the Federal Agency of Culture and Cinematography. The showing of Russing films took place in a biggest German cinema theatre, the legendary Lichtburg that was opened in 1928.
During the festival guests visited the unique costume exhibition “Pages of History through Costumes of Film Characters” from the Mosfilm Cinema Concern collection. They could see costumes from the films: Ilya Muromets (director A.Ptushko, 1956), War and Piece (director S.Bondarchuk, 1967), Andrey Rublev (director A.Tarkovsky, 1966), Ruslan and Lyudmila (director A.Ptushko, 1971), Boris Godunov (director S.Bondarchuk, 1986), Mikhailo Lomonosov (director A.Proshkin, 1986), Poisons, or World History of Poisoning (director K.Shakhnazarov, 2001).
All the exhibited costumes were made in the Mosfilm sewing and property workshops based on cartoons by well-known Russian art designers O.Kruchinina, M.Abar-Baranovskaya, T.Vadetskaya, S.Titova, L.Novy and others.
