COMPOSER AKHMAD PEZHMAN HAS HIS MUSIC RECORDED IN MOSFILM
In Mosfilm Music Recording Studio One music by the well-known Iranian composer Akhmad Pezhman has been recorded. The audio project Persian Legends included Pezhman’s music sounded in different films. Iranian cinema of today draws now attention of public at large, so this project will be undoubtedly taken with great interest.
“I am pleased to have a good chance to work a little in Mosfilm,” said the composer. “It is a best studio in the world, besides there is a real green oasis here — in summer the cinema studio looks like a park and it is very fine.
My music is very complicated, and the orchestra conducted by Sergey Skripka works perfectly with it. Everyone tried to help me here what lightened my work very much. I believe I met genuine like-minded persons and friends here.
I like Russian music in general — Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Prokofiev, I learned orchestration using their great works.
Some time I was going to become a teacher, but later I changed my mind and began to learn to play the violin and to compose by myself. I had been studying in Vienna for five years, then returned to Iran and composed the first Iranian opera there! Some time later I decided to continue my education and entered Columbia University in New-York.
However later all changed in my fatherland, the revolution happened there, at first I lived in New-York, New Jersey and then in Los Angeles. Though I often visit Iran now, my family, my wife and three children wait for me at home in Los Angeles…
I composed music to many films, both fiction and documentary ones, many Iranian composers tried to imitate European music, but I tried to be myself. I had occasions to work together with different film directors, but I would like to say that I like very much to work in Russia, and I would like to go to Russia more often, I even began to study the Russian language! I like Russian culture, I read many books by marvelous Russian writers, Chekhov for example, though I often have a longing to go to my fatherland, Iran. But I am likely a happy man — because wherever I work I meet good people, and this is the main thing!”

Sounds pretty good. Anyway, in east russian language we call it moosika (music). Sounds funny little bit, isn’t it? When people dies in village, they used to sing such sort of songs. Interesting. right?
